Mission Statement: The Probate Court has always had and will continue to have as its main priority, prompt and courteous service to the thousands of individuals who visit the court annually.

Overview: The officials of the Probate Court are a Judge and a Register, both of whom are elected to serve a term of four years. The Judge performs the judicial business of the Court and the Register handles the administrative work of the Registry. The Probate Court assists in the legal and social welfare needs of a great many of the families in Cumberland County, and does approximately 25% of the total probate business within the State of Maine.
