The Probate Court handles estates of deceased and missing persons, guardianship of incapacitated adults as well as minors, conservatorships of incapacitated adults as well as minors, trusts, legal name changes, adoptions and marriage waivers. We have original records dating back to 1799.

The Probate Court was incorporated in 1799 and is located in the Kennebec County Superior Courthouse. It is our hope that this site will make information more accessible to our citizens. The Kennebec County Court was computerized in late 1995. The docket entries since that time are included here for your convenience.
